i'm just me

last august

we went to bryan's cousin's wedding in breckenridge, colorado last august.  it is so beautiful there. due to the extremely high altitude i had the hardest time breathing.  i was also 1.5 months pregnant but not telling anyone yet - and the traveling was not working out for me.  anyway, i just recently downloaded the photos on my canon from that trip.

obviously i need to touch them up a bit in photoshop, but i just don't have the energy right now.  i am looking forward to us making another trip to colorado maybe this fall to take abby to meet bryan's family that lives there.  we love seeing all of them.

i'm off

leaving for vegas later this morning.  hard to be away from work without feeling guilty with so much going on right now - i'll elaborate later.  however, mary ann is getting married and we've had this trip planned for awhile now.  my only wish?  that we were going somewhere cool - i'm already tired of the 115 degree weather here...

going to miss this face, and she'll miss us, but her uncle bill is going to stay with her and give her lots of pets and love.

80 degrees

we ventured to prescott today since the forecast was a high of 80.  when you live in phoenix, 80 is cool.  we walked around the local craft fair, had burgers at kendall's and a thrifty mint-n-chip ice cream cone before heading home.  found cool gifts for bonnie and lynn for christmas (i always keep my eyes open for stuff for them throughout the year so i'm sure to get them something good as opposed to something you could get in any store).

just a cowboy

got to spend the weekend with my step-dad, jerry.  he is such a wonderful person and fun to be with.  he is a gracious host and i am so happy when i get to go see him.  and he is a fabulous artist.  that's some of his original barb-wire art on the door behind him.  he makes it by hand with only a couple of hand tools.  he also carves mesquite wood sculptures by hand.  he has carved for a very long time and in addition to doing commissioned work, he also sells pieces in a couple of southern az local artist stores.

  

prescott

went to prescott saturday for a wedding.  got to bum around downtown and the shops.  absolutely love that red courtyard!  this ribbon & bead curtain is the best - so dang adorable.  the weather was perfect and it was a wonderful, peaceful day.  definitely will be going back...

off to missouri for work.  bringing my camera this time, so i hope to post some pics to the blog while i'm there.

i always dislike the day and night before work-related travel. the packing; the making sure i have all the work stuff i need for the trip (last time i forgot my laptop power supply, duh); extra work at odd hours because there is always something that has to be done before i go and that can't be done from wherever i am going; the taking care of home stuff since i'll be gone awhile.  i usually try to travel during the week so i still have my personal time on the weekends - this time i leave on sunday morning due to the bright idea of "the powers that be".  plus i have had to work most of today and this evening due to so many projects i have going on at work right now.  so i've pretty much lost my weekend to work.

i like missouri.  it's pretty, and branson has stuff to do - shopping, nice places to eat, and a beautiful boardwalk area by the river that is fun to hang out at.  and i have company on this trip.  and i get to see a friend.  so, the trip's not so bad.  but the reason is.  but i have to try to move forward in a positive way.  or i get more migraines and more sleepless nights.

anyway, here's someone cute that i will miss and will be happy to come home to (and oh yes, b too, but he doesn't let me take pics of him being cute...)

 

she doesn't travel well

yeah, that's me.  i have no fear of flying.  but since the day i was born my body has screamed to always have both feet planted firmly on solid earth.  if i don't listen, it lashes out.  you cannot imagine the joy this brings me.

east TX is pretty - i could live there - but i understand it can get quite cold in the winter which takes it off the list for b.  i stayed the first night at a tyler motel that gave me my worst ever motel experience - i actually called b in tears it was so bad - don't ask.  after that i stayed at one of the properties linked to my employer - much better to say the least...  rustic exterior, comfy interior.

went to a local mexican restaurant - and it was yummmmy.  you know how i love my mexican food...
